Winnebago Industries, Inc., maker of the Rialta and LeSharo, has been recognized for the ninth consecutive year as the nation’s top-selling motor home manufacturer according to Statistical Surveys, Inc.

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (NYSE:WGO), has been recognized for the ninth consecutive year as the nation’s top-selling motor home manufacturer according to Statistical Surveys, Inc., a retail reporting service in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Winnebago Industries’ dealers retailed more Class A and Class C motor homes combined than any other manufacturer’s dealer group in calendar 2009, achieving 19.2 percent market share versus 18.3 percent market share for calendar 2008.

“Achieving the top-selling position again is a tribute to the teamwork of our dealer partners and our employees,” said Winnebago Industries Vice President of Sales and Marketing Roger Martin. “Once again our dealers have shown that when our company gives them the right product and the right support, they can accomplish anything. We were extremely pleased with our market share performance in calendar 2009, particularly in the Class A diesel motor home market segment, due in part to the success of our new 2010 lineup. Winnebago Industries had the largest Class A diesel market share gain in the industry with 11.3 percent of this market segment in 2009 versus 8.1 percent in calendar 2008; an amazing gain of nearly 40 percent for the year.”

Winnebago Industries also led the Class A Gas market segment and the Class C market segment, both with 22.9 percent market share in calendar 2009. Winnebago Industries’ ERA was also the top-selling Class B motor home model in calendar 2009 with 17.9 percent market share.

“We believe RV consumers are drawn to quality, well-established brands, particularly during the challenging economic conditions we faced in 2009,” said Martin. “At a time when too many dealers and consumers are left out in the cold without the support of their manufacturer, we will continue to work diligently to distinguish our products from the competition through stringent quality, innovative product design and unmatched service after the sale. Through these efforts, Winnebago Industries has also been recognized as a Quality Circle Award recipient by the Recreation Vehicle Dealers’ Association for each of the last 14 years.”

Winnebago Industries, Inc. (NYSE: WGO), the nation’s top-selling motor home manufacturer, received notification that its Winnebago brand earned the prestigious Quality Circle Awards from the Recreation Vehicle Dealers’ Association (RVDA). The Itasca brand also received Honorable Mention. These awards are scheduled to be presented at a ceremony conducted at the 47th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, KY on November 30, 2009.

“It is a tremendous honor for us to receive the Quality Circle Award again this year,” said Winnebago Industries’ Chairman, CEO and President Bob Olson. “To have earned this award since 1995, an accomplishment no other motor home or travel trailer manufacturer in the industry has been able to attain, is a real tribute to the hard work and diligence of our employees who are dedicated to building high quality products, while providing first-class programs and services to our dealer partners.”

The Winnebago and Itasca brands were both recognized for scoring 80 percent or above in overall dealer satisfaction as measured in the Dealer Satisfaction Index (DSI) survey conducted by RVDA. The Itasca brand, however, received fewer than the necessary 15 dealer responses needed to receive the full award status, instead, receiving Honorable Mention. The DSI survey, which determines the Quality Circle Award winners, rates manufacturers’ performance in eight core areas: sales support, sales territory, vehicle design, vehicle reliability/quality, competitive price/value, parts support, dealership warranty support and overall dealer communications.

“Our dealer partners are our first-line customers, and as such, it is imperative we understand all their needs,” said Olson. “We believe the DSI survey to be an extremely vital tool for the measurement of the quality of our products, our sales and service programs and our manufacturing processes, providing us with an important point of reference as to how our dealer partners perceive the quality of Winnebago Industries’ products and services. We are truly honored by the continued confidence shown by our Winnebago and Itasca dealer partners in Winnebago Industries and wish to thank them for this prestigious award. We would also like to thank our employees for their diligence in ensuring that every Winnebago Industries motor home, program and service provided is of the highest quality. We are off to a great start with innovative new 2010 Winnebago Industries products and will continue to strive to have the most innovative and highest quality products, services and support for both our dealer partners and retail customers.”

Revolutionary 2010 Winnebago Via and First Hybrid Concept RV Introduced

LOUISVILLE, KY — (Marketwire) — 12/02/08 — Winnebago Industries, Inc. (NYSE: WGO), the nation’s top-selling manufacturer of motor homes, unveiled three exciting new motor home designs at the 46th Annual National RV Trade Show in Louisville, KY: the new 2010 Winnebago Via, the most fuel efficient Class A motor home, a full-size Class A hybrid concept RV under the Winnebago Adventurer nameplate and a 32-foot Itasca Sunstar front engine diesel motor home.

“We are pleased to introduce the most revolutionary product concepts this industry has ever seen with the new 2010 Winnebago Via, the Winnebago Adventurer hybrid, and the Itasca Sunstar front engine diesel motor home,” said Winnebago Industries Chairman of the Board, CEO and President Bob Olson. “Winnebago Industries has long been a leader in this industry, and with the introduction of these new vehicles, we continue to set the bar with the most innovative and unique products on the market today.”

Winnebago Via – First Class A-based Sprinter

Built on the fuel-efficient 11,030-lb. GVWR Dodge Sprinter chassis with a Mercedes Benz diesel engine, the new Winnebago Via is the first of its kind, and is sure to revolutionize the industry thanks to its fuel economy. The Via features an industry-leading fuel efficiency that’s estimated at 15+ miles per gallon. Factor in the Via’s use of space utilization and contemporary design and it’s a complete package.

“Winnebago Industries was the first manufacturer to introduce products built on the Dodge Sprinter Class C chassis and now we are the first to bring a Class A motor home built on the Dodge Sprinter chassis to the market,” said Winnebago Industries’ Chairman of the Board, CEO and President Bob Olson. “The new Via, and its Itasca counterpart, the Reyo, are innovative Class A coaches that combine design, space, efficiency and drivability into one compact 25-foot package. You won’t find another motor home like it in the market place, and I’m proud to say Winnebago Industries did it first.”

The Via showcases the new 25T at Louisville. Despite its compact 25-foot length, the Via offers impressive roominess with a front slideout room, a private bathroom area, fully equipped galley, and sleeping accommodations that are truly unique. In the rear, twin beds offer a flex bed concept that is easily converted into a queen bed for a larger continuous sleeping space. Additional sleeping space is also found up front with the new Studio Loft. This new “spare” bed system neatly tucks into the ceiling of the coach when not in use and conveniently pulls down to create a second bedroom area. Other highlights include the new Intellisense monitor panel that incorporates a LCD panel readout with touch screen technology, and the new Threshold RV Door. The exclusive Threshold door design is unique in that it has dual latching points and does not break the seal plane for the latch and hinge connection points. This creates a more secure and quieter door. It also features a unique residential style window with built-in screen than eliminates the need for a separate screen door. The Winnebago Via and Itasca Reyo will be available in the market in summer 2009.

Hybrid Concept Adventurer

Winnebago Industries also unveiled a full-size Class A hybrid concept RV with the new 2009 Winnebago Adventurer. The Adventurer hybrid concept vehicle features a Freightliner ecoFRED chassis with Eaton hybrid power system components. This is a full hybrid system in that it utilizes two independent power sources (a diesel engine and an electric motor) that work in conjunction to optimally power the vehicle. The Adventurer Hybrid also is the first hybrid motor home to feature an Auxiliary Power Generation (APG) unit that senses hybrid battery power levels and automatically engages the coach’s engine to charge the batteries. Because this hybrid system also supplies power to the 120-volt coach system, and on-board generator is not required. The Adventurer Hybrid concept vehicle explores new horizons in RV efficiency and functionality and is just one more example of Winnebago Industries tradition of industry leading innovation.

“Winnebago Industries is on the cutting edge of RV hybrid technology with this concept vehicle that explores the viability of advanced hybrid systems in motor home applications,” said Olson. “We are pleased to bring this type of advancement to the market.”

Sunstar – Front Engine Diesel Concept

A new Itasca Sunstar 32K concept vehicle featuring a 20,500 lb. GVWR Workhorse front engine diesel chassis with a MaxxForce 7 V8 diesel engine was also unveiled in Louisville. Built on the new Workhorse W20D front engine diesel chassis specifically designed for this RV application, this coach offers an estimated 10-12 MPG and features real towing capacity — 5,000 lbs.; a Gross Combined Weight Rating (GCWR) of 26,000 lbs. and sleeping for six. The Itasca Sunstar and Winnebago Vista will be available with this new chassis in summer 2009.
